In the I/O Builder server, select the A6110 Timeout driver configuration dialog box for the server driver module (as described in the Ovation I/O Builder User Guide)(U3-1044) or the Ovation Developer Studio (N T-0060 or W IN60). Make sure that this point time period value is greater than the value of the control task time period that defines the point associated with this module.
Bits 2, 3, and 4 of the configuration register (Register D) determine the watchdog timer. The 3-digit code and associated A6110 time are the standard for Ovation I/O.
Initially, the timer was set for the maximum time, which was 16 seconds. The microcontroller periodically reads the configuration register and determines the timeout period.
If the timer expires, the internal error LED bit is set and the LED lights up. This communication is normal LED off. As long as the timer does not expire, the normal communication LED lights up and the internal error LED bit is cleared.
Configuration constants can be entered via a local serial port or indirectly addressing shared memory on the A6110 controller serial interface bus. - Table 22-7 lists the commands. The indirectly addressed memory consists of two 64-word buffers; One for receiving data and the other for transmitting data.
