The GE/Bently Nevada 3500/15 series power supply is a half-height module that must be installed in a specially designed slot on the left side of the rack. The 3500 rack can contain one or two power supplies (any combination of AC and/or DC), either of which can power the entire rack. If a backup power supply is installed, the backup power supply acts as a backup power supply to the primary power supply. When two power supplies are installed in a rack, the power supply in the lower slot acts as the primary power supply and the power supply in the upper slot acts as the backup power supply. As long as a second power supply is installed, removing or inserting either power module will not interrupt the operation of the rack.
