The Emerson/MOTOROLA IPMC712 / IPMC761 multifunction I/O module is an optional module that is backward compatible with earlier MOTOROLA Computer Group (MCG) products that used the MVME761 or MVME712M transition boards. Early MCG products included the MVME2600 and MVME2700 series of sbc.
IPMC712 and IPMC761 can be installed on the MVME5100 SBC. Both models are designed around the PMC form factor, and both modules include PCI/ISA bridging, an ultra-wide SCSI adapter, and Super I/O capabilities. Both modules are single width, standard length, and standard height PMC boards. Connect to the motherboard PCI bus via PMC P11, P12, P13, P14, and P15 connectors. The two modules draw +5V and +3.3V via PMC connectors.
The IPMC712/761 I/O Module Installation and Use Manual provides the information needed to install, use, and program an IPMC712 or IPMC761 module. IPMC712 and IPMC761 are optional I/O modules installed on the MVME5100, MVME5500, and MVME6100 single-board computers (sbc). Their design uses the PowerPlus II architecture.
IPMC712 is a variant of IPMC761. The main difference between the two modules is the Ethernet port and the physical interface of serial ports 3 and 4. These and other differences are discussed in the following sections of this manual.
