The NI PCI-6224 (Part number: 779067-01) is a 16-bit multi-function data acquisition device in the M series. The model offers 32 analog inputs (16 differential or 32 single-ended), 48 digital input/output channels, and is capable of sampling at 250 kS/s when operating in single or multi-channel mode. The analog input of the NI PCI-6224 is processed by a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter.

The DAQ provides waveform generation and acquisition through its port 0. The NI PCI-6224 is known for its rugged configuration as it is equipped with 48 x 5 V logical digital input/output lines. These digital lines include 16 PFI lines. Each PFI input has a programmable de-jiggle filter that can be enabled or disabled by the user.

To ensure easy access to its channels, the PCI-6224 integrates two 68-pin VHDCI type female connectors. In addition, all DIO signals in the PCI-6224 NI operate under integrated protection against undervoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage conditions, and ESD events. In its default configuration, the hardware sets all DIO and PFI channels to high-impedance inputs.
