Product description

The 8440-1024 module is a synchronizer module developed for three-phase AC industrial generators. Woodward originally produced this synchronizer as one of many models in the lineup. In order to properly connect to these synchronizers, the generator needs to be equipped with a speed control and automatic voltage regulation module.

These two components do not need to be Woodward designed modules, however, they must have compatible setups. The 8440-1024 is programmed to provide the operator with a generator module with combined multi-function Settings. The device comes with an integrated generator circuit breaker and micro circuit breaker, or generator circuit breaker and power circuit breaker. There is also load and power factor control as well as mains and generator protection.

The 8440-1024 synchronizes GCB and MCB units separately. The device is capable of providing a dual transmission sense of the generator system as well as the connected common bus and the power supply. Parallel operation of mains includes actual power control and true RMS power calculation. It also includes a soft turn-off function, as well as power factor control and power factor setpoints through adjustable parameters. Other operations are also included, such as isolation operations for frequency and voltage control and dead bus operations.
